When the art looks great… but isn’t you

Have you ever copied someone’s work and thought: this looks great…

but only to discover you felt nothing?

It’s not that the painting was wrong.

Nor ugly.
Just not you.

Copying can feel safe. It gives you a plan.

A starting point.
It gives you something already approved.

But the cost is that the work goes quiet. It becomes empty.

It’s silenced because of one thing. It goes quiet for one reason.

When I first understood what was really happening here.

I knew I was onto something really important.
